In the village of Chaiki, Kyiv region, Gennady Chastyakov, assistant to the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny, died as a result of an explosion. The speaker of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Maryana Reva, reported this to the Ukrayinska Pravda publication.

According to her, Chastyakov died due to careless handling of a grenade. At the time of the explosion, his 13-year-old son was next to him. The boy was seriously injured and is now in the hospital. The military man's wife and daughter, who were also in the house, were not injured.
