MOSCOW, November 7. The Supervisory Board of Sberbank re-elected German Gref to the post of head of the credit institution for a four-year term. Gref himself announced this during a press conference following the meeting of the supervisory board.
«Today we had a meeting of the supervisory board, a very important milestone for us. …Today the president, chairman of the board of the bank was re-elected for a four-year term,» — said Gref.
Deputy Minister of Finance Alexey Moiseev reported in September that the Federal Property Management Agency and the Ministry of Finance are preparing proposals to extend Gref’s powers as head of Sberbank.
Gref headed Sberbank in 2007.
In 2019, Sberbank shareholders renounced the right to elect the president, chairman of the bank’s board and terminate his powers early, transferring these issues to the competence of the supervisory board.
