MOSCOW, November 8, Vasily Bogdanov. Senior coach of the Russian national team sambo champion Dmitry Troshkin reported that, according to his information, the national team of Ukraine will take part in the World Championships in Yerevan.
Earlier, the International Sambo Federation (FIAS) reported that the Ukrainian delegation had submitted an application to participate in the tournament, but had not yet arrived in Yerevan.

For the next two days before the start of the tournament, we plan to see where the carpet and scales are, to prepare. Some guys still need to adjust their weight. As for the Ukrainian team , then, according to our information, she will take part in the tournament. They announced for the World Championship, three people in each category. It seems like they should arrive tomorrow. We didn’t have any questions about this situation. Sambo is outside of politics. We are all brothers here , we are doing one thing,” Troshkin said.
The tournament will be held on November 10-12, athletes will compete for sets of medals in 21 weight categories (14 among men and women in the sports variety of sambo, seven in combat among men). Representatives from 65 countries submitted applications to participate in the competition. The Ukrainian national team in 2022 did not compete at the European Championships in Serbia in September, and at the World Championships in Kyrgyzstan in November due to the participation of sambists from Russia and Belarus in the competition.
