The Simonovsky District Court of Moscow fined oppositionist Lyubov Sobol 40 thousand rubles for failure to provide a report on the activities of a “foreign agent” (Part 2 of Article 19.34 of the Administrative Code). Mediazona was informed about this by the press service of the court.
In addition, the Presnensky District Court of Moscow imposed a fine of 30 thousand rubles on the opera singer Maria Maksakova-Igenbergs according to the protocol on the absence of the “foreign agent” marking in publications (Part 4 of Article 19.34 of the Administrative Code).
The Ministry of Justice declared Alexei Navalny’s ally Lyubov Sobol a “foreign agent” in May 2022. In June of this year, a court in Moscow fined her 30 thousand rubles due to the lack of a “foreign agent” sign.
Maksakova-Igenbergs was added to the list of “foreign agents” on May 5 this year. The Ministry of Justice considered that the opera singer, among other things, “called for the provision of weapons to Ukraine.”
