IDF spokesman Daniel Hagari announced on October 30 that Israel was expanding its ground operation in the enclave. He stressed that additional combat units had entered this zone. On the same day, tanks appeared on the outskirts of Gaza. Subsequently, the city was surrounded.

More than 1.4 thousand people died in Israel, including 20 Russians. In addition, according to various estimates, up to 250 people may be held captive by Hamas.
