IDF spokesman Daniel Hagari announced on October 30 that Israel was expanding its ground operation in the enclave. He stressed that additional combat units had entered this zone. On the same day, tanks appeared on the outskirts of Gaza. Subsequently, the city was surrounded.

In addition, Tel Aviv announced a complete blockade of Gaza: supplies of water, food, electricity, medicine and fuel were suspended.
The number of victims in the Gaza Strip exceeded 10.5 thousand, more than four thousand of them were children. Over 26 thousand were injured. More than 1.4 thousand people died in Israel, including 20 Russians. In addition, according to various estimates, up to 250 people may be held captive by Hamas.
