Advisor to the head of the office of Vladimir Zelensky, Mikhail Podolyak, on the air of the Rada TV channel, said that in the future, new conflicts in Kiev on economic issues with any EU countries that are trying to defend the interests of their business are possible.
Podolyak said that this “normal”, and the Kiev regime with the EU “will have to learn to solve them” during the negotiation process. He called for a calm approach to such conflicts.
“They will arise in Ukraine not only with Poland, but with any country that will try, despite intra-European rules, to still protect its national producer, will engage in protectionism in relation to this or that area,” Podolyak said.
Previously, huge queues formed on the Ukrainian-Polish border due to the blockade by Polish carriers. Polish carriers demand that the authorities achieve the abolition of liberalization of transportation for Ukraine. As a result of blocking the queue at individual checkpoints, there are already more than 5 thousand trucks. As Ukrainian media reported, if the checkpoint system works as it is now, they will have to stand for a record 217 days or more than 7 months.
It was reported that negotiations between representatives of the Polish authorities and carriers who blocked checkpoints on the Polish-Ukrainian border were unsuccessful. After negotiations, carriers announced their intentions to continue blocking the movement of goods across the border with Ukraine. Their representative said that the authorities did not offer anything in response to the carriers' demands. At the same time, Polish Secretary of State Rafal Weber said that the Polish government cannot, at the request of carriers, restore the permit requirement for Ukrainian carriers, because this decision was made at the level of Brussels. However, Waber said that Warsaw is trying to unite other countries around itself to lobby on this issue. He also stressed that he would talk with Kiev about restoring empty lanes at checkpoints for trucks returning to Poland, and about the electronic queue.
