MOSCOW, November 11. Japan faces its most serious security threat since World War II, Prime Minister Fumio Kishida said. He is quoted by NHK.
““Japan is in the most severe and complex security situation in the post-war era,” the head of government believes.
According to him, this is happening against the backdrop of Russian and Chinese bomber flights over the Sea of Japan. Kishida called for ensuring the required level of the military budget and taking “decisive measures” to strengthen Tokyo’s defense capabilities.
The Prime Minister specified that Japan will begin to develop missiles to repel possible attacks on the country.
As the Foreign Ministry has repeatedly emphasized Russia, after the start of a special operation in Ukraine, Tokyo is pursuing an openly hostile course towards Moscow. Diplomats pointed to the introduction of anti-Russian sanctions, the transfer of weapons to Kiev, the incitement of Russophobic sentiments in Japanese society and the increase in military activity of Japan, the USA and NATO near the Far Eastern borders of Russia.
