VELIKY NOVGOROD, November 13. In the Starorussky district of the Novgorod region, search engines erected a monument to a four-legged participant in the Great Patriotic War at the site where the remains of a dog-orderly were found, reports search expedition «Valley» in its group on VKontakte.
It is specified that in 2022, during the autumn stage of the Memory Watch, the Novgorod detachment “Courage” discovered the remains of a dog-orderly on one of the roads of the “Ramushevsky Corridor”. Through this “corridor” 6-8 kilometers wide, the Nazis, surrounded near Demyansk, supplied their troops. In 1942-1943 there were fierce battles there. During the Great Patriotic War, paramedic dogs pulled wounded Red Army soldiers from the battlefield and delivered medicine to the soldiers.
«The bones of the animal were found near military positions. Along with them, straps with buckles identical to a dog harness, ampoules, pill boxes, an aluminum case with powder and ointment were found. The search engines suggested that a canvas pouch or bag with medicines… Such a monument to a four-legged friend is the first in the Novgorod region,” the message says.
