As an i24 correspondent noted in a video published in social network X, the Israeli military previously concentrated its main efforts on the western part of the facility, and now they will occupy the southern part.
The day before, the IDF announced that on the territory of Al-Shifa, the military found weapons, equipment and a command center for the Palestinian movement Hamas.
In turn, as Israeli officials told the American newspaper The New York Times, the army command is confident that Hamas is using hospital patients “as human shields” and hopes to “deprive the militants of a key asset” by conducting a targeted military operation.
It is noted that Hamas can release 50 women and children in exchange for approximately the same number of Palestinian citizens who are in Israeli prisons. According to the publication, a number of exchanges may take place at the Rafah checkpoint between Egypt and the Gaza Strip.
