The Prime Minister of Lithuania spoke about the possible procedure for depriving Liepa of citizenship

MOSCOW, November 14 Lithuanian Prime Minister Ingrida Simonyte believes that the Migration Department has the right to consider the issue of depriving ballerina Ilze Liepa of Lithuanian citizenship. The Prime Minister's words are quoted by the media.
Previously, the Lithuanian Ministry of Internal Affairs ordered the Migration Department to begin the procedure for depriving the ballerina Ilze Liepa of Lithuanian citizenship. This decision was made after articles appeared in the Lithuanian media about an interview with Liepa, who condemned the Baltic countries and supported the Kremlin’s policies.
““In cases where citizenship is granted as a certain privilege, I believe that institutions authorized by law to discuss such an issue do have the right to discuss it,” Simonyte said, recalling that Liepa is not a citizen of Lithuania by birth. Her words are quoted by the LRT (Lithuanian Radio and Television) portal.
Earlier in September, Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda signed a decree depriving figure skater Margarita Drobiazko of Lithuanian citizenship, which she received as an exception in 1993. She and Povilas Vanagas were also excluded from the list of holders of the Order of Gediminas, V degree, for participating in Tatiana Navka’s show “Swan Lake” in Sochi.
