MOSCOW, November 17. Nothing good in tough There is no confrontation between the Russian Federation and the West, it is rather bad, and Russia is not in confrontation with the Americans and American culture, Moscow is in confrontation with their ideology and vision of how to live in the world, said the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov.
“Of course, there is nothing good in the fact that we are now collectively experiencing a period of such a very tough confrontation with what we call the collective West. It is rather bad,” Peskov said in an interview with the MGIMO 360 student news channel.
Peskov noted that all systems of international legal and economic relations are now being transformed. After the collapse of the USSR, Western countries felt themselves to be “the true rulers of the world” and felt entitled to be guided not by laws, but by rules, “and precisely by the rules that they themselves set,” and to impose these rules on everyone else, he added.
Peskov explained that such incentives never arise out of nowhere, and this was due to the fact that they had a solid economic and technological basis. Over time, the situation began to change, “countries began to appear that began to get back on their feet,” to develop their own production, and from here the opportunity arose to seek greater independence, the press secretary of the head of state noted.
«And of course, contradictions arose here, and this is where such a deep confrontation arose. This does not mean that we are in confrontation with the Americans, this does not mean that we are in confrontation with American culture. We are in confrontation with their ideology , we are in confrontation with their vision of how to live in the world,” Peskov said.
