BARNAUL, November 19 Residents of a number of districts of the Altai Territory were left without electricity due to a storm wind that does not recede, the hurricane tore roofs off houses and damaged billboards and trees felled.
“All districts are at the mercy of bad weather. The main energy work is now being carried out in the Mikhailovsky, Blagoveshchensky, Petropavlovsky, Soloneshensky, Ust-Kalmansky districts, and the suburbs of Barnaul. Energy workers are trying to return light to the homes of residents as quickly as possible, where bad weather damaged network facilities. The bad weather is not is retreating, which complicates the work,” notes the press service of the regional government.
As a journalist reports from the scene, power outages are also observed in Barnaul itself.
“As a result of gusts of wind, the villages of Chernitsk, Mokhnatushka, Yagodnoye, Plodopitomnik, Blagodatnoye, Sputnik, Aviator, Nauchny Gorodok, Gonba, Zaton are without electricity. The branch of PJSC Rosseti Siberia — Altaienergo is operating in a special mode, eliminates technological violations at energy facilities, carries out emergency restoration work,” the mayor’s office clarifies the situation.
It is noted that 35 backup sources of electricity supply are in full readiness, which are necessary to provide temporary power to socially significant facilities during the period of repair of main equipment.
«There were also a number of incidents in the city: the fall of advertising structures on Shumakov and Popov streets, the tearing of part of the roofing material from the roofs of houses in the private sector, the fall of trees,» the mayor's office said in a statement.
