The Moscow City Court approved the decision to detain Navalny's lawyer Vadim Kobzev. This was reported by a Mediazona correspondent from the courtroom.

On October 13, the Basmanny District Court of Moscow sent Kobzev to a pre-trial detention center. He is accused of participating in an extremist community (Part 2 of Article 282.1 of the Criminal Code). Together with him, two more lawyers are involved in the case — Alexey Liptser and Igor Sergunin, they are also under arrest. On November 16, three of them were included in the “list of extremists and terrorists” of Rosfinmonitoring.

According to the investigation, Alexei Navalny’s defenders, “using their status,” “ensure the regular transfer of information” from the politician in the colony to his associates. Thus, Navalny “continued to carry out the functions of the leader and director of the extremist community in planning, preparing, creating conditions and committing crimes of an extremist nature.”
After the arrest of Liptser, Kobzev and Sergunin, Navalny’s fourth lawyer, Alexander Fedulov, left Russia in connection with with harassment of colleagues. Because of the criminal case, other Russian lawyers also went on a three-day strike, demanding to solve the problem of discrimination and pressure on lawyers from the authorities and security forces.
