Avito Auto experts analyzed the demand for light commercial vehicles (LCV) in platform in Russia. Interest in purchasing new LCV-segment cars on the platform in January-October 2023 was 34.1% more likely than in 2022, and demand for used LCVs over the same period increased by 34.5%.
Domestic models and Russian-assembled equipment are in greatest demand in the LCV market today. The top 10 most popular models on Avito Auto, both in the new LCV segment and in the used LCV segment, are dominated by products from Russian manufacturers and assembly plants — GAZ, UAZ, DongFeng and Sollers.
“The high popularity among buyers of models of domestic brands and assembly plants in the LCV segment is associated not only with the lower price of these cars. Another significant factor is ease of maintenance. Since LCVs are most often used for commercial freight and passenger transportation, long periods of vehicle downtime when repairs are required create additional costs. For a domestically assembled model, you can quickly find spare parts almost anywhere in Russia, and the ability to find the necessary components in the region where the car is used is of great importance,” Avito Auto experts note.
Leadership of domestic manufacturers: which models are in greatest demand in the segment of new LCVs
For 10 months of 2023, the share of GAZelle Next in the structure of demand for new LCVs on Avito Auto amounted to 22.66% . The share of UAZ Pro is 11.4%, the share of DongFeng Captain is 10.09%.

In the used LCV segment, the rating of the most popular models, according to Avito Auto, has not undergone significant changes compared to 2022. Although some models in the ranking appeared only this year, the shares of popular models in the structure of demand for the period January-October 2023 remained approximately the same as a year earlier.
