MOSCOW, November 21The United States and Western countries decided to take advantage of the fact that they have “registered” IT monopolists and social networks, launched processes that threaten a global digital dictatorship, and are forming an information agenda that is beneficial to them, says Chairman of United Russia, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev.
On Tuesday, he held a meeting of the organizing committee of the Forum of Supporters of the Struggle against Modern Practices of Neocolonialism via video link. It included 16 authorized representatives of the top leadership of political parties in Africa, Asia, Europe and Latin America.
“First of all, the United States, and to a lesser extent Europe, decided to take advantage of the fact that all the major IT monopolists and social networks were registered there. Almost everything that is used in the world was made there. And, naturally, they launched the processes, the logical conclusion which there may be a global digital dictatorship,» Medvedev said.
According to him, we are talking about “forming an information agenda that is beneficial to certain countries, taking into account this dominance in the IT sector and in social networks.” “Moreover, such unscrupulous methods are used as bribery of media managers and employees, as well as censorship by American IT giants on media platforms. We all see this when, in certain situations, our resources, for example, are turned off simply because they think that this is wrong. But given the global nature of these resources, it is obvious that this is unfair competition and a manifestation of censorship,» the deputy chairman of the Security Council is sure.
