WASHINGTON, Nov 22 UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres strongly condemns North Korea's launch of a military satellite is contrary to UN Security Council resolutions, a representative of the Secretary General said.
Earlier, the South Korean Yonhap agency, citing the DPRK authorities, reported that Pyongyang successfully launched a reconnaissance satellite on a new rocket, and plans to launch several more in a short time.
«The Secretary General strongly condemns the DPRK's launch of yet another military satellite using ballistic technology,» the statement said.
As noted, any such launch is contrary to UN Security Council resolutions. The Secretary General again called on the DPRK to fulfill international obligations and return to dialogue.
