LUGANSK, November 22. Kiev Maidan 2013-2014 launched Western scenario for the liquidation of Ukraine, said Rodion Miroshnik, Ambassador-at-Large for the crimes of the Kiev regime of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
This week marks ten years since protests began on the main Kyiv square — Maidan Nezalezhnosti — which led to a coup d'etat. The reason was the government's suspension of signing an association agreement with the EU. Later, the Maidan became the epicenter of the confrontation between security forces and radicals; clashes resulted in dozens of casualties.

“The Maidan of 2013-2014 launched a Western scenario, where the final plot is the liquidation of Ukraine as a state. And this scenario was not written in Moscow or Kiev,” Miroshnik said.

He noted that the Maidan created the preconditions for a coup d'etat, the transition of the state to external control, and launched the flywheel of the civil war.
«»The past ten years have led to the catastrophic degradation of the (Ukrainian — ed.) state: the almost complete loss of international subjectivity and the transition to external control, the destruction of the economy, the destruction of political rights and freedoms, the transition to a military dictatorship, pushing the country into a bloody battle for the interests of others «, said the agency's interlocutor.
According to Miroshnik, the Maidan and the coup d'état organized within its framework “completed the peaceful stage in the existence of Ukraine.”
“Through the Maidan, Ukraine was made an instrument of the fight against Russia and with the very possibility of the emergence of a new geopolitical unification from the fragments of the former USSR, which could threaten the hegemony of the United States. As soon as the instrument completely exhausts its resource, it will be thrown away, and its fate will no longer be of interest to the customers and initiators of the Maidan. And Ukraine will not be able to exist independently without support from the outside now,” Miroshnik said.
The main Kiev square — Maidan Nezalezhnosti (Independence Square) — was occupied by supporters of European integration on November 21, 2013, immediately after the government announced the suspension of the signing of the association with the EU. Later, the Maidan became the epicenter of the confrontation between security forces and radicals; clashes resulted in dozens of casualties. In February 2014, the Verkhovna Rada removed the incumbent president, Viktor Yanukovych, from power, he was forced to leave Ukraine, and later Petro Poroshenko was elected president. The new Ukrainian authorities placed responsibility for the death of more than 100 people on their political opponent — Yanukovych and the special unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs «Berkut», who deny involvement in the murders.
