Retired FSB Major General Alexander Mikhailov commented on the message that Russian President Vladimir Putin at the CSTO summit announced Operation Mercenary, which is aimed at suppressing recruitment and blocking exit channels for citizens of CSTO countries to participate in the activities of international terrorist groups.
“I think Putin simply declared the need for a joint fight against mercenaries,” the expert said in an interview with News.ru.
According to him, today these people are fighting in Ukraine, and tomorrow they can go to Kyrgyzstan, and then to Armenia.
“This common problem needs to be solved comprehensively,” Mikhailov emphasized.
He also noted that this is a problem for all countries of the world.
