The tragedy occurred in Jaipur district, Odisha state on November 21. Around three o'clock in the afternoon, the teacher noticed that Rudra Narayan Sethi was spending time with his friends in the schoolyard, although he should have been in class.
The teacher scolded the schoolchildren for absenteeism and decided to punish them by forcing them to do squats. After sitting down several times, Seti fell unconscious. The teacher immediately notified the child's parents, and they took him to the hospital together. However, the doctors were powerless and it was not possible to save the teenager.
The police said that they do not yet know anything about the incident, since they have not received any statements from the parents of the deceased or representatives of the institution. Later, the head of the district's education department came to the school and independently began an investigation into the incident.
