The Supreme Court of the self-proclaimed DPR sentenced Ukrainian military Maxim Babich to 25 years in a maximum security colony in the case of the murder of a captured Russian army soldier. The DPR prosecutor's office reported this to TASS.
According to investigators, 29-year-old Ukrainian Armed Forces sergeant Babich in March last year, on the orders of his commander, together with his colleagues, hit a Russian military man several times and shot him in the leg, after which he stopped showing signs of life. Where exactly this happened is unknown.
The Ukrainian was found guilty of murder committed by a group of people motivated by political hatred (points “g” and “l” of Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code) and cruel treatment of prisoners of war in occupied territory (Part 1 of Article 356 of the Criminal Code) .
