An activist from the Kaluga region spoke about a search, during which FSB officers beat him and threatened to rape him with dumbbells

FSB officers searched the home of Denis Okhryamkin, an activist from the Kaluga region. As he himself told Belaya Vorona, the security forces tortured him, demanding to confess to setting fire to relay cabinets.

After the search, he was released as a witness in the case, after which the activist left Russia. In a conversation with Mediazona, Okhryamkin said that the search took place on November 23 in the village of Kabitsyno not far from Obninsk.

According to him, on the eve of the search of the activist’s house, the internet was turned off, after which he called a repairman to his place. In the morning they knocked on the door, introducing themselves as a representative of the Internet provider, but when Okhryamkin opened the door, security forces in uniform and with weapons burst into the apartment — they were FSB officers.

The search took place as part of a criminal case about the bombing of relay cabinets located near the activist’s house — it is unknown under what articles it was opened. Security forces claimed that in August, on the day of the bombing of the cabinets, the activist was seen not far from the railway.

For several hours, according to Okhryamkin, he was interrogated using torture: beaten, threatened rape the dumbbells and kill, they tried to strangle him with a dog leash. In addition, as he said, a “pacifier” was applied to the activist’s head, claiming that with the help of this device they would drive him crazy. During the interrogation, Okhryamkin did not see anything, as a blanket was placed on his head.

The security forces also forced a resident of the Kaluga region to unlock his phone, found “memes about swastikas and LGBT people” in it, after which they began calling the activist “first a Nazi, then a gay.” After interrogation, he was taken to the police department in Kaluga to undergo a polygraph, after which he was released as a witness in a criminal case.

When the activist left the police department, he asked the security forces what he “can tell.” Then, according to him, an FSB officer recommended that he tell his friends that the search was carried out by mistake, and the investigative actions themselves were related to a criminal case “regarding fraud by Ukrainians with credit cards.”

In the Kaluga region, Okhryamkin carried out various political and anti-war actions — for example, he was engaged in posting leaflets against mobilization.
