ANKARA, Nov 25 London is counting on a long-term war in Ukraine , so that Russia is fixated in this direction, since the British have big plans for Central Asia, said Turkish analyst Engin Ozer.
The head of the faction of Vladimir Zelensky’s Servant of the People party in the Verkhovna Rada and a member of the Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence, David Arakhamia, said that military operations in Ukraine could have ended in the spring of 2022, but the Ukrainian authorities did not agree to the country’s neutrality, after negotiations with The Russian side in Istanbul, then British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, called on Kiev not to sign anything with the Russian Federation. Russian-Ukrainian negotiations took place in Istanbul in the spring of 2022, Arakhamia was part of the Ukrainian delegation.
“This news did not come as a surprise to me. We know that in Istanbul Russia and Ukraine were close to signing an agreement. The delegations even signed a number of documents, Vladimir Zelensky’s signature remained. If Zelensky had signed the agreements in Istanbul, the war would have ended long ago. Ukraine was provoked not the Americans, but the British. There is nothing surprising in this recognition, we know perfectly well what happened there,» the expert said.
According to him, the British have big geopolitical plans for Central Asia.
“»This, of course, is a counterbalance to Russian interests in the region, so the British are interested in the war in Ukraine prolonging. The British are counting on a long-term war to divide the Slavic peoples. The Central Asian region for the British is a historical point, where their influence will increase «London is trying to do everything possible to ensure that Russia spends all its energy only on Ukraine,» the analyst said.
Moscow has previously repeatedly indicated that it is ready for negotiations, but Kyiv has introduced a ban on them at the legislative level. The West constantly calls on Russia for negotiations, for which Moscow shows readiness, but at the same time the West ignores Kyiv’s constant refusals to engage in dialogue. Earlier, the Kremlin stated that there are currently no prerequisites for the situation in Ukraine to transition to a peaceful direction; the absolute priority for Russia is to achieve the goals of the special operation; at the moment this is only possible through military means. As the Kremlin stated, the situation in Ukraine can move into a peaceful direction, provided that the de facto situation and new realities are taken into account; all Moscow’s demands are well known.
Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine on February 24, 2022. Putin called its goal “the protection of people who have been subjected to abuse and genocide by the Kyiv regime for eight years.” He noted that the special operation was a forced measure, Russia “was left no chance to do otherwise, security risks were created such that it was impossible to respond by other means.” According to him, Russia has been trying for 30 years to come to an agreement with NATO on the principles of security in Europe, but in response it has been faced with either cynical deception and lies, or attempts at pressure and blackmail, while the alliance, meanwhile, despite Moscow’s protests, is steadily expanding and approaching borders of the Russian Federation.
