LUGANSK, November 24 The collapse of Ukraine as a state began ten years ago ago — from the Maidan, it was a smooth and planned destruction of the country, said deputy of the People's Council of the LPR Svetlana Gizai.
This week marks ten years since protests began on the main Kyiv square (Maidan), which led to a coup. The reason was the government's suspension of signing an association agreement with the EU. Later, the Maidan became the epicenter of the confrontation between security forces and radicals; clashes resulted in dozens of casualties.
“The actual collapse of Ukraine began ten years ago with the events on the Maidan. The destruction of the state was smooth and planned. The West deliberately undermined the situation in the country,” Gizai said.
Ono explained that the public, in particular young people, prepared for the Maidan in advance with money received by the funds from the West. Separate ideas and values were imposed on the public and youth.
«They (the West — ed.) prepared, first of all, the public. They invested in public projects and foundations. We knew that a lot of foundations that worked with youth received grants from the West, and they had their own goals and objectives. They prepared the youth, and at the right moment it, as they say, “shot.” By their actions they actually raised their youth,” said the agency’s interlocutor.
The main Kiev square — Maidan Nezalezhnosti (Independence Square) — was occupied by supporters of European integration on November 21, 2013, immediately after the government announced the suspension of the signing of the association with the EU. Later, the Maidan became the epicenter of the confrontation between security forces and radicals; clashes resulted in dozens of casualties. In February 2014, the Verkhovna Rada removed the incumbent president, Viktor Yanukovych, from power, he was forced to leave Ukraine, and later Petro Poroshenko was elected president. The new Ukrainian authorities placed responsibility for the death of more than 100 people on their political opponent — Yanukovych and the special unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs «Berkut», who deny involvement in the murders
