MOSCOW, November 25 The issue of increasing the carrying capacity of the Eastern landfill to 255 million tons by 2030 is being considered, said First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Andrey Belousov.
“»In 2024, in accordance with the presidential decree, we are reaching a carrying capacity of 180 million tons, by 2030 we should reach 210 (million tons), but this is the minimum bar, because together with Vitaly Gennadyevich (Savelyev, Minister of Transport RF) are now working on the topic — to increase it further to 255 (million tons),” he told reporters during a press approach at the opening of the “Russia on the Move” exposition.
Russian Railways are currently implementing the second stage of development of the Eastern training ground worth 1.1 trillion rubles. It is designed until 2024 and provides for an increase in carrying capacity to 180 million tons from 158 million tons in 2022. The Russian Railways holding is carrying out pre-design work on the third stage. It is divided into substages based on the forecast for an increase in cargo turnover. The first assumes an increase in carrying capacity to 197 million tons.
