CHELYABINSK, November 25 A resident of the Chelyabinsk region received a 1.5 year suspended sentence for illegal access to personal accounts of websites of government agencies and banks and the sale of this data in the Telegram messenger , reported the FSB for the region.
According to the FSB, a resident of the region used software for unauthorized destruction, blocking, modification, and copying of computer information. Thus, he illegally gained access to personal accounts from Internet services, including government agencies, banking systems, and distributed them on Telegram for a reward of $400 to $2,000 in cryptocurrency.
“»The Kurchatovsky District Court of Chelyabinsk found a native of the region guilty of committing two crimes under Part 1 of Article 272 (illegal access to computer information) and Part 2 of Article 273 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (creation, use and distribution of malicious computer programs)… The court he was sentenced to imprisonment for 1 year and 6 months, suspended with a probationary period of 1 year and 6 months,” the statement said.
