“Abigail Edan, a four-year-old American-Israeli citizen captured by Hamas on October 7, is being held by the Red Cross,” the publication said, citing a senior US official.
Edan thus became the first American woman released by Hamas as part of the deal with Israel and one of 17 people who were released on Sunday.
On Wednesday it became known that Israel and Hamas, with the mediation of Qatar, reached the first large-scale agreement since the conflict escalated on October 7: the parties agreed to cease hostilities for four days in order to exchange dozens of hostages and detainees held by each other.
