MOSCOW, November 29. Russia's GDP in January-September 2023 grew by 2.9% in annual terms, according to a preliminary estimate from Rosstat.
Rosstat data coincided with the assessment of the Ministry of Economic Development, which was announced earlier.
In the first quarter of this year, the Russian economy, according to Rosstat, decreased by 1.8%, in the second — grew by 4.9%, in the third quarter — by 5.5%.
According to the forecast of the Ministry of Economic Development, the Russian Federation's GDP will grow by 2.8% this year. At the same time, Russian authorities have recently voiced more optimistic forecasts and announced economic growth of 3% or even higher.
The Ministry of Economic Development noted that the main drivers of the economy are manufacturing, construction and agriculture, as well as consumer demand.
