SIRIUS (Krasnodar Territory), November 29.Russia is quite quickly getting off the technological needle of the West, President Vladimir Putin said at the III Congress of Young Scientists.
«Our so-called — at least that's what we called them — partners believed that they had hooked us on a technological needle, and we would never get off it. Thanks to the efforts of people like you, it turned out that this is possible. And not just possible , but it’s happening quite quickly,” the head of state noted.
He recalled that before the meeting with the scientists he visited the exhibition of the “Our Lab” project, and cited the words of one of the participants in the conversation, who said that previously domestic researchers purchased devices abroad, but now they are “forced” to buy them within the country.
As Putin explained, Russian manufacturers now have a market for these devices, and therefore an economic motivation to produce.
«One thing is important. It is very simple, but it works — competition. It is necessary that there is competition for relevant products in the domestic market,” the president said.
As the Russian leader clarified, there are things that are created in single copies, but when it comes to mass production, competition is necessary to ensure high quality.
