MOSCOW, November 30. Former Deputy Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Olga Yarilova did not admit guilt in court in the case of abuse of power with damage of 125 million rubles, a correspondent reports from the hall court.
«I understand the meaning of the written words of the indictment, the meaning of the sentences, the charge is not clear to me, it is vague, contradictory. I do not admit guilt,» said Yarilova.
According to the indictment, the official is charged with grave abuse of power consequences. According to the investigation, Yarilova contributed to the inclusion in the Pushkin Card program of the “Highest Ice Cream Museum in the World” in one of the Moscow City towers. In fact, according to investigators, this establishment is a commercial enterprise and does not represent any cultural value. This led to the fact that the company SP-Capital LLC, which owns the museum, was unjustifiably paid budget funds in the amount of more than 125 million rubles for entrance tickets.
The sanction of the article under which Yarilova is accused provides up to 10 years of imprisonment with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to three years.
In September last year, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin relieved Yarilova from the post of Deputy Minister of Culture at her request. According to the Ministry of Culture, she resigned of her own free will.
