BEIJING, December 1 Russian-Chinese relations are experiencing a very dynamic period, there is a quantitative increase in ties, and it is very important that it develops into a qualitative one, said First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs, former Russian Ambassador to the PRC Andrei Denisov.

“Russian-Chinese relations are going through a very dynamic period, this is striking even to me, who for 10 years, working here in Beijing, observed their development literally on a daily basis. There was a «covid» break, and after that we are quite rapidly building up what we missed over the years, although video communication worked, but, of course, nothing can replace personal human communication,” Denisov said on the sidelines of the 14th plenary meeting of the Russian-Chinese Friendship and Peace Committee and development in Beijing.
He noted that “we are seeing a significant quantitative increase in various kinds of delegations, both Chinese to us and ours here, at all levels; two summit meetings took place in March in Moscow and in October in Beijing, the head of our government visited in May, as far as I know, another one is expected at the regular meeting of prime ministers, parliamentary ties have been resumed.»
“In a word, there is a quantitative increase in connections, it is very important that it develops into a qualitative one, and as far as I can observe, it is developing,” Denisov added.
At the same time, he emphasized that “our trade turnover is growing, there is an increase in supplies both in one direction and in the other for literally all main product items, this is certainly a good thing.”
