ROSTOV-ON-DON, November 30. Head of Volgodonsk Administration Rostov region Sergei Makarov reported on social networks that he resigned early at his own request.

“The Volgodonsk City Duma accepted my voluntary resignation,” he wrote, without reporting the reasons for this decision.
He recalled that he worked in the executive bodies of the city government for more than nine years, the last two years — as head of administration. “I want to assure you that the city will not be left without good and high-quality management. All projects that were started earlier and now will definitely be completed by the new head of the Volgodonsk city administration,” he noted.
Makarov added that he decided to close his official accounts in the near future and this is his last entry on social networks as head of the administration.
Volgodonsk is the easternmost city of the Rostov region with a population of more than 168 thousand people. The largest industrial cluster of nuclear engineering is located on its territory. The Rostov Nuclear Power Plant is located 16 kilometers from the city.
