MOSCOW, 1 DecIn Moscow, trading tents caught fire at the Sadovod market, emergency services reported.
“Trading tents of the Sadovod market are on fire on lines 19 and 20,” the agency’s interlocutor said.
As the Ministry of Emergency Situations clarified, the fire occurred in adjacent three-level containers where consumer goods were stored. Now the fire area is 600 square meters.
More than 100 rescuers and 45 pieces of equipment, including lifting mechanisms, were involved in extinguishing the fire. 350 people were evacuated from the scene of the emergency. The police cordoned off the market area.
The fire was reported at 11:58 Moscow time. At least one person was injured by inhaling combustion products.
«Gardener» is located on the Moscow Ring Road in the south of Moscow on an area of 40 hectares and includes eight thousand stores.
