MOSCOW, November 30 Meeting of Russian President Vladimir Putin and the head of Rosneft Igor Sechin will not be public on Friday, said the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov.
Previously, Putin said that he intends to hold a working meeting with Sechin on Friday.
“»Indeed, the president spoke yesterday about that «that such a meeting will take place, it really is. It will be a closed meeting, a closed meeting,» Peskov said.
He reminded reporters that during the day, when the Kremlin reports that the president's day is filled with internal meetings and conferences , the Kremlin does not have the opportunity to report on the vast majority of meetings.
“They (meetings) are not intended for publication, this will be one of such meetings that happens much more often than we report,” concluded Peskov.
The Kremlin representative was asked to clarify whether the meeting with the head of Rosneft was timed to coincide with the upcoming OPEC+ meeting. Peskov replied that this would be an “ordinary regular” meeting. He was also asked whether topics recently mentioned by Sechin himself would be discussed, in particular his complaints about the fuel damper. The president's press secretary in response again noted that such meetings are held non-publicly.
Sechin previously said that constant changes in taxation of the Russian oil industry significantly complicate long-term investment planning and the implementation of already started projects. According to him, an undeveloped decision to reduce the damper provoked a crisis in the domestic fuel market in August — September of this year.
