NALCHIK, December 2 One person was killed and another was injured as a result of the collapse of an interfloor slab in a building under construction in the city of Nazran in Ingushetia, the regional State Emergency Service of the Russian Federation reported.
«At 17.04 Moscow time on Saturday, information was received that in Nazran on Moskovskaya Street, while pouring a concrete slab between the first and second floors, an interfloor slab collapsed, resulting in two people being injured,» the message says.
According to the department, one of the victims died upon delivery to the Republican Clinical Hospital, the second escaped with minor bruises.
«The building is at the stage of construction of the third floor. During the process of pouring the interfloor pillars between the second and third floors, the formwork structure could not withstand pillars, as a result of which a reinforced concrete mass spilled,” notes the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
The department clarified that the deceased was a citizen of Azerbaijan born in 1991.
The regional prosecutor’s office reported that following the collapse of part of the building under construction the building has been inspected. “During the supervisory activities, compliance with the requirements of urban planning legislation, as well as labor safety rules during construction work will be assessed. Based on the results of the inspection, if there are grounds, comprehensive prosecutorial response measures will be taken,” the prosecutor’s office said.
