ST. PETERSBURG, November 30. Chapter Russian Central Election Commission Ella Pamfilova invited the Belarusian Central Election Commission to take part in monitoring the presidential elections in the Russian Federation, which are scheduled for March 2024, according to a message from the Telegram channel of the Russian Central Election Commission.
«In Russia, elections for the President of the Russian Federation will be scheduled in the near future, which will take place in March 2024. Of course, we will send an official invitation to you, but now I can say that we will gladly receive your delegation and hope for your participation in the observation mission,” the CEC press service quotes Pamfilova as saying.
She also added that the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation regularly participates in observation missions during elections in Russia and Belarus, and in other countries. According to her, this invaluable experience allows us to constantly improve various mechanisms and procedures of the electoral process, making it more open and accessible to citizens.
Previously, a meeting was held between representatives of the Central Election Commission of Russia, headed by the chairman of the commission, Ella Pamfilova, and a delegation from Belarus, headed by the chairman of the Central Election Commission of Belarus, Igor Karpenko, in St. Petersburg as part of a scientific and practical conference dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the electoral systems.
In turn, Belarusian colleagues invited observers from the Russian Central Election Commission to observe the parliamentary elections in the republic, which will be held in February 2024.
