
MOSCOW, December 1 NPO named after Lavochkin is creating a space system for all-weather remote sensing of the Earth, images of which are planned to be used in the interests of the Russian Armed Forces, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said on Friday .
““First, let’s hear how the Scientific and Production Association named after S.A. Lavochkin is working on the creation of a space system for all-weather remote sensing of the Earth, which will allow obtaining images of the area regardless of weather conditions and illumination,” he said at a thematic conference call with leadership of the RF Armed Forces.
According to the minister, such high-resolution images are planned to be used in the interests of the Armed Forces.
He also announced that the meeting would discuss “issues arising during the work and ways to resolve them.”
