The Bugatti company presented a unique copy of the Chiron Super Sport supercar, made for an American client: her very generous husband decided to give her an unusual birthday gift 70th anniversary and helped to embody the image of the classic Bugatti Type 57 SC Atlantic from the mid-30s that had sunk into her soul into a modern car.
Twenty years ago, an unnamed client visited the Mullin Automotive Museum in Oxnard (USA, California) and for the first time saw one of the three surviving examples of the Bugatti Type 57 SC Atlantic — this model is considered not only the apotheosis of the style of the 30s of the past century, but also one of the most beautiful cars of all time. Our heroine literally fell in love with this car, kept it in her memory and began to dream of her own Bugatti. This dream was realized by the husband of our heroine, he himself is a passionate fan of Bugatti and a long-time customer of this brand: for the seventieth birthday of his dear wife, he allocated a tidy sum for the construction of a unique supercar based on the same Bugatti Type 57 SC Atlantic.

The woman went to the Bugatti headquarters in Molsem, France, and met there with the leading designer of the brand, Jascha Straub, he immersed the new client in detail in the history of Bugatti, then together they spent a long time looking at a scale model of the Bugatti Type 57 SC Atlantic that she liked so much and outlined the contours of a unique project, which eventually received the name 57 One of One.

Jascha Straub himself has long wanted to embody the spirit of the Bugatti Type 57 SC Atlantic in a modern model of the French brand, and finally the right opportunity came up. The 1600-horsepower high-speed Super Sport version of the supercar Chiron, capable of accelerating to 440 km/h, was chosen as the basis for a one-time project. Jascha Straub decided to meticulously reproduce the light blue color of the Bugatti Type 57 SC Atlantic seen by the client and went to personally get acquainted with this car at a temporary exhibition at the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, where he spent a long time observing the play of light on the surfaces of this masterpiece of automotive art.

The original color of the Bugatti Type 57 SC Atlantic has been successfully reproduced on the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 57 One of One, but there are other common features: the modern supercar has a chrome grille in the style of its classic ancestor, unique chrome wheels and a Bugatti Type 57 SC Atlantic profile image on the underside of the retractable wing.

The interior is lined with brown Gaucho leather and decorated with commemorative inscriptions indicating the exclusive status of this example. The door cards are decorated with an embroidered profile of the Bugatti Type 57 SC Atlantic, and the headrests are decorated with the profile of the “Dancing Elephant” sculpture by Rembrandt Bugatti, the brother of Ettore Bugatti, the founder of the Bugatti automobile company. The press service of the French brand does not say how many millions of euros the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 57 One of One cost the customer.
We add that the total circulation of the Chiron was 500 copies; Bugatti will present the successor to this model in 2024 and launch it into production in 2026.
