MOSCOW, December 6, Ivan Orekhov. Winner of the Olympic Games in Tokyo boxing champion Albert Batyrgaziev said that at the moment it is impossible to compare the careers of Russian MMA fighters Islam Makhachev and Khabib Nurmagomedov.
Makhachev is currently the champion of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) in the lightweight division and the best fighter regardless of weight categories (P4P). Former league champion Nurmagomedov retired in October 2020 without losing a single fight (29-0).
“We cannot compare Makhachev and Nurmagomedov until Islam ends his career. Khabib has raised the bar to an unrealistic level for Russia, and Islam has just entered the ranks (of stars). He has a great future. And only after the departure of Islam, we will be able to argue who had a harder opposition and a more difficult (sports) path,” said Batyrgaziev.
