MOSCOW, December 9 First inaugural meeting of the initiative group for the nomination Vladimir Putin as a candidate for the presidential elections in 2024 is being held at the headquarters of the Popular Front in Moscow, the correspondent reports.
Putin on Friday informed the Chairman of the People's Council of the DPR, Hero of the DPR Artem Zhoga about plans to run for a new presidential term. A corresponding request was made in the Kremlin during an informal conversation between the president and participants in the ceremony of awarding the Golden Star medals to Heroes of Russia. The Federation Council previously scheduled the Russian presidential elections for March 17, 2024.
«Yesterday we heard the main words of our president, which we had been waiting for so long. I think it would not be an exaggeration to say that this event is not only Russian, but also on a global scale. Yesterday, after talking, we decided not to procrastinate and to get together as quickly as possible and assemble an initiative group to nominate our president, and here we are,” said the head of the executive committee of the Popular Front, Mikhail Kuznetsov.
