SALEKHARD, December 11New medical equipment will be purchased in hospitals in Yamal: an MRI machine will appear in Labytnangi, and a new angiograph will appear in Salekhard, the press service of the head of the region reported.
“In 2024, an MRI machine will be purchased for Labytnanga, and a new angiograph will be purchased for Salekhard. The corresponding instruction was given by the Governor of Yamal Dmitry Artyukhov during the direct line,” the message says.
The need for MRI was voiced by Vladimir Kokarev, a therapist at the Labytnang hospital.
“Almost every day patients come to me who need an MRI examination. This is a very popular procedure. Unfortunately, now I have to send patients to Salekhard, during muddy times this is extremely problematic. Almost all hospitals already have MRIs installed, is it possible to buy device for Labytnangi too?,” the doctor’s words are quoted in the message.
Artyukhov supported the doctor’s initiative.
“Diagnostics in Yamal must be the best and must be accessible to everyone. We are systematically equipping our hospitals — we are buying new expert-class ultrasound machines, CT, MRI. This is necessary in order to timely identify diseases and begin treatment, and, if necessary, send them to the federal center. Therefore, I will also support the decision to purchase an MRI for Labytnanga,” his press service quotes the governor.
During the direct line, Artyukhov also announced that next year a new angiograph will be installed in the regional vascular center of the district hospital, the room for it is already ready. It will replace the previous outdated device.
This will allow for research into the cardiovascular system, blood vessels, as well as operations on the heart and blood vessels. The equipment is especially relevant for myocardial infarction and restoration of blood flow to the affected area of the heart muscle.
Over the past five years, all major hospitals in Yamal have been equipped with modern MRI machines. Two tomographs were installed in Noyabrsk, one each in medical institutions in Nadym, Salekhard, Novy Urengoy and Tarko-Sale. The device is expected to be delivered to Gubkinsky by the end of the year; construction of the module where the equipment will be located is now being completed, the authorities specify.
