The Italian brand is expected to release a four-door with completely “green” technology in 2026.
Alfa Romeo is owned by the auto giant Stellantis, which previously set the brand's management the task of achieving profitability. As a result, the premium brand had to partly change its development vector — the development of electric vehicles came to the fore, as well as strengthening its position in the crossover segment. However, recently it became known that Alfa Romeo is not going to completely switch to SUV.

The general director of the Italian brand, Jean-Philippe Imparato, spoke about future plans in an interview with Autocar. He said Alfa Romeo «doesn't want to become an SUV brand, even as the world moves to SUVs.» He recalled that the company is currently developing the next generation Giulia with an all-electric “filling” and explained that the new product will have a “classic silhouette.”
Jean-Philippe Imparato noted that the Alfa Romeo Giulia will remain a traditional sedan, despite the fact that this segment is currently going through difficult times. In his opinion, sedans will become more popular in the future, since their silhouette is more streamlined than that of crossovers, and “aerodynamics and electrification go hand in hand.” The green Giulia is expected to debut in 2026.
The head of the brand also hinted that the company is thinking about the return of the GTV and Duetto sports cars; Of course, they are predicted to have all-electric technology. He did not disclose any details, since these projects have not yet been officially given the green light. The approximate dates for the appearance of “hot” new products with historical names are also unknown.

At the same time, the company adheres to plans to expand its SUV line. So, at the beginning of 2022, the brand launched the Alfa Romeo Tonale crossover (it has a twin – the Dodge Hornet, the American brand also belongs to Stellantis). Together with the next Giulia, a new generation Stelvio will also hit the market; its “filling,” of course, will be completely “electric.”

The premiere of a large crossover in the E-segment is scheduled for 2027. It is expected that it will compete for buyers with the crossovers Porsche Cayenne, Lotus Eletre and BMW iX. It is expected that this as-yet unnamed new product will be based on the STLA Large modular platform. Let us remind you that it will also be sold in Europe, but the priority markets for this SUV will be the USA and China.
Another new product of the brand in the SUV segment will be the Alfa Romeo Milano. This SUV will be one step below the Tonale in the brand hierarchy: in fact, it will become the ideological heir to the MiTo and Giulietta hatchbacks. Its closest relatives are the Jeep Avenger, Fiat 600 and Peugeot 2008.
