In Ukraine, a deputy was arrested for detonating grenades at a village council session

MOSCOW, December 17 The Uzhgorod City Court in Ukraine elected a deputy , who blew up grenades at a session of the village council, was given a preventive measure in the form of detention without the possibility of bail.
Earlier, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) charged deputy from the Servant of the People party Sergei Batrin, who on Friday exploded three grenades at a session of the village council in the Transcarpathian region, with carrying out a terrorist act. According to updated information, 26 people were injured, one of them later died. The attacker himself is in the hospital and has regained consciousness.
«Today, a preventive measure was chosen in the form of detention without the possibility of posting bail in relation to a 54-year-old citizen of Ukraine, a current deputy of the Keretskovsky village council of the Transcarpathian region of the VIII convocation, who is suspected of committing a crime under Part 2 of Article 258 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine» “terrorist act,” says a message published on the court’s Facebook page*.

According to the court, the accused “tried to influence the decisions of the leadership and other deputies, but did not achieve what he wanted,” after which he detonated the grenades .
