MOSCOW, December 18 The military-industrial holding KMZ has built an indoor slip-dock for testing surface sea drones, boats and ships up to a length of up to 30 meters, said the managing director of the holding, Mikhail Danilenko.
The depth of the pool is more than three meters, the total area of the pool is more than two square kilometers. The KMZ holding specializes in fulfilling government defense orders, in particular, in the production of boats for Russian security forces, naval drones and repair of armored vehicles.
“On our own initiative, a closed slip dock was built on the production territory of the military-industrial holding. This is an independently developed structure, which is an indoor warm pool with a slip for testing small vessels, sea drones, vessels up to 30 meters in length,” Danilenko noted. .
According to him, the need for such a dock is dictated by the relevance of the construction of sea surface drones for naval defense and support vessels.
«In the case of the construction of ships over 20 meters, these are tests for inclination, stability, all types of mooring tests, measurements of traction forces. In the case of small ships and sea drones, this includes capsizing, and the ability of an unmanned boat to operate according to a program, on radio control, practicing maneuvers in complex situation, the possibility of studying and searching for objects at the bottom,” said Danilenko
Earlier, the head of KMZ announced the completion of the construction of the first Russian unmanned boat and its departure for testing in the NWO zone. Such drones will be able to reach speeds of up to 80 kilometers per hour and have a range of 200 kilometers. TNT, special cargo, escort and reconnaissance equipment can be used as a payload weighing up to 600 kilograms. The boat can be used as a platform for an aerial drone and as an anti-drone.
