MOSCOW, December 16 A team from China became the winner of the international championship “Battle of Robots”, the semi-finals and finals of which were held in the Moscow Expocentre, they won a cash prize a prize of three million rubles, the Ministry of Digital Development said.
«The winner's cup and a cash prize of 3 million rubles was won by the Roc team from China. In second place was the DS ROBOTICS team from India. They received a cash prize of 2 million rubles. Third place was taken by the TurboMeChatronics team from Moscow. Their winnings “1 million rubles,” the ministry said.
The winners, as well as the team that took fourth place — Energy girls from St. Petersburg — receive tickets to the super final at the «Games of the Future» in Kazan. It will take place in February 2024.
The finals and semi-finals were attended by more than 5 thousand people in person; the online broadcast of the event collected more than 4.3 million views. In total, the broadcasts of all stages of the “Battle of the Robots” collected more than 10 million views.
“We have been working towards this final for a whole year. The strongest teams that have passed the regional stages and selections have made it here. Starting next year, we plan to launch the school league “Robot Battles” — the guys will participate in their categories. Today there are four teams from other countries in the ring — two from India, one from China, one from Turkey. It’s great that the championship has a wide geography, it supports the competitive spirit,” said the head of the Ministry of Digital Development, Maksut Shadayev.
The participants were also supported by Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko. “President Vladimir Putin has set the task of achieving Russia’s technological sovereignty. And every domestic robot you see today is another step towards technological leadership,” he said in his welcoming speech.
In October, the second qualifying stage was held in Perm, as a result of which nine teams qualified for the semi-finals. Another team returned to the championship based on the results of audience voting. The first qualifying stage of the international championship «Battle of Robots» was held at the international exhibition center «Crocus Expo» in the Moscow region on September 16, the first six teams advanced to the semi-finals.
