MOSCOW, December 19 Russia has developed the country's first open source software for drones, said the NTI press service, as well as the company's CEO «ASV soft» — market participant «Aeronet» NTI — Alexey Voloshkevich.
«Russian developers have created open software for controlling unmanned aerial vehicles, ground communication stations and various payloads, which will accelerate the development of the UAS industry in Russia. <…> Asv.Drones is a comprehensive cross-platform open source software from the Aeronet market participant NTI LLC ASV Soft,» said NTI.
As Voloshkevich clarified, this is the first such development in the country, although it has foreign analogues.
“The good thing about open source software is that for many developers the entry threshold will be lowered, that is, all new companies that will now be developing the production of their own drones will be able not to reinvent the wheel, but to use Russian proven software, which has a sufficiently large amount of time and resources, and will save money,” he added.
Software developed by ASV Soft allows one operator to control several drones simultaneously. It also supports command mode — when several operators control one or more drones. Asv.Drones supports all types of operating systems: Windows, Linux, Android, MacOS and iOS.
«Plus, our software contains a system of plugins at all levels, so all developers can write a closed part only for themselves and sell it to their clients, conditionally using our software and adding only those modules that they need. Well, or turning to us so that we add, adapt for them, create special closed modules,» Voloshkevich noted.
Open software can be used for different types of devices , such as multirotors (drones that have more than two rotors), fixed-wing aircraft, vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) aircraft, and others.
