The Ministry of Internal Affairs has put on the wanted list the editor-in-chief of the “Pskov Province” Denis Kamalyagin, who left Russia.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs has put Denis Kamalyagin, editor-in-chief of the Pskov Province, on the wanted list. Information about this appeared in the department’s search database, Mediazona drew attention.

At the end of November it became known that a criminal case had been opened against Kamalyagin for “discrediting” the army (Article 280.3 of the Criminal Code). On December 14, as the Pskov Province reported, the court chose a preventive measure for Kamalyagin, who left Russia, in the form of a written undertaking not to leave.

A case was opened against the editor-in-chief because of a video on the YouTube channel of the Pskov Province about a missile attack. Russian army strike on a nine-story residential building in Uman on April 28, 2023.

As I wrote “Pskov province”, a year ago Kamalyagin was fined 35 thousand rubles under a similar administrative protocol for “discrediting” the army (part 1 of Article 20.3.3 of the Administrative Code).

In December 2020, the Ministry of Justice declared Kamalyagin a “foreign agent” . Until the fall of 2023, the journalist was fined three times for refusing to label posts on social networks as “foreign agent.”

The journalist left Russia in March last year after searches in connection with the case of libel against the local governor Mikhail Vedernikov.
