MOSCOW, December 18 Trade turnover between the Moscow region and Belarus over the last 10 months of 2023 increased by almost a quarter and exceeded 9 billion dollars, Governor of the Moscow Region Andrei Vorobyov said on Monday.
“Over 10 months, trade turnover between Belarus and the Moscow region has increased by almost a quarter and exceeded $9 billion. The main areas: household appliances, food, metal products, medicines, equipment and spare parts,” Vorobiev wrote in his official Telegram channel.
According to the governor, the import of Belarusian products to Russia passes through the Moscow region; today about 20% of all container cargo goes through the region, and this share will increase.
Also during Vorobyov’s meeting with President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, the parties discussed updating the fleet of harvesting equipment. “This year alone we purchased 430 tractors from the Minsk Tractor Plant and 17 loaders from the Amkodor company. The plan for 2024 is another 162 tractors and 32 loaders. The Amkodor company plans to build a spare parts service center in Mytishchi. On our part, we will provide land without bidding,» Vorobiev said.
The head of the region noted that today cooperation has been established between the Mogilev Elevator Engineering Plant and the Serpukhov Elevator Engineering Plant. The Belarusian enterprise supplies components for production near Moscow. Also in the Moscow region, at the Kolomensky plant, they manufacture engines for Belaz and fuel pumps for the Minsk Motor Plant at an enterprise in Noginsk.
