Viktor Evtukhov: increasing prices for individual goods does not lead to a proportional increase in prices for the entire category
Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Viktor Evtukhov said that increasing prices for certain products will not affect increase in the cost of the entire category of goods. This was reported by the Izvestia publication.
Earlier it became known that food manufacturers warned retailers about increasing prices from the beginning of the New Year by 5-20% for a number of goods: from dairy products to confectionery.
“This does not mean at all that all these changes are accepted by the networks and are reflected in the cost of goods for consumers,” Evtukhov noted, saying that the networks work with different distributors.
The decision to increase the cost will be made only after negotiations. Most often, retailers raise prices partially or completely refuse to do so. Evtukhov added that an increase in prices for some goods does not mean that there will be an increase in the cost of products for the entire category of goods.
