MOSCOW, December 22 Russia's opponents will try influence both Russian voters during the presidential elections in the Russian Federation, but the state has enough tools to prevent interference in any form, said Alexey Chesnakov, scientific director of the Center for Political Conjuncture.
“»It seems to me that they (opponents) will try to influence both the internal audience and their own audience, hoping that there will be a mutual influence effect. And you know that we have a number of relocants and people who have left from Russia, but you know that from there it is impossible to vote for the President of the Russian Federation, I think these attempts will be stopped in time, because today the state has enough tools to prevent this interference in any form,” Chesnakov said during the presentation of the situational analysis in the studio of the Expert Institute of Social Research at the exhibition «Russia».
He noted that attempts to prevent Russian citizens from voting abroad are also possible.
“»This will indicate, firstly, the weakness of those political structures and countries that will interfere with the expression of will. Secondly, this is direct interference in violation of diplomatic conventions, because, firstly, Russia has always openly allowed citizens «other countries that live on its territory can vote in elections, and there were no obstacles here. There is a principle of transparency, and, of course, it is important here that other countries also respect the rights of our citizens. And this is the right of Russian citizens to form power,» noted Chesnakov.
