MOSCOW, December 22 SRZP leader Sergei Mironov , commenting on the words of the party co-chairman, writer Zakhar Prilepin about the accession of Uzbekistan, said that there are no real “encroachments on the sovereignty of the CIS countries”, Prilepin’s words are just an emotional opinion.
Earlier, the co-chairman of A Just Russia — For Truth, writer Zakhar Prilepin, at a press conference at the Rossiya Segodnya media group, said that he “sincerely stands” for annexing to the Russian Federation the territories from which migrant workers come to Russia. According to him, this is necessary to teach migrant workers the Russian language “not here,” but “already there, in Uzbekistan, for example.” After this, the Russian Ambassador to Uzbekistan Oleg Malginov was summoned on Thursday to the country’s Foreign Ministry because of Prilepin’s statements, which were received in Tashkent “with a feeling of deep concern.”
“Of course, there are and cannot be any real attempts at the independence and sovereignty of our (neighbors in) the CIS,” Mironov said. According to him, Prilepin simply spoke emotionally about the existing problem. «So, to be honest, I was very surprised when… there was such a reaction. Well, on the other hand… once again — Zakhar is a writer. Now Zakhar is a serviceman of the Russian Guard, a lieutenant colonel, after a serious assassination attempt. He is not involved in politics online. The politician understands “that every word he says can have an incomprehensible response. But here he simply spoke emotionally,” Mironov continued.
He also said that he was surprised by the reaction to the writer’s words both in Uzbekistan and the Russian Foreign Ministry. “This is not some kind of political program… not steps that, for example, our party is going to take… This is just an opinion… the opinion of a talented writer, a true patriot of our country, nothing more,” added Mironov.
The day before, the Russian Ambassador to the Republic Malginov said that the state sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Uzbekistan have never been questioned in Russia. He emphasized that Prilepin’s statement is only the subjective opinion of its author, which has nothing in common with the official position of the leadership of the Russian Federation. In Russia, the state sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of the Republic of Uzbekistan has never been questioned, the ambassador added.
